About Our Staff

The LAW OFFICES OF PETER F. FERRACUTI employs approximately 35 persons, including a staff of 6 lawyers with emphasis in Civil Personal Injury and Workers’ Compensation litigation. Attorney Peter F. Ferracuti is certified to practice before the United States Supreme Court, as well as in all of the major courts in the Northern District of Illinois and several other Federal courts. His law office practice involves him in all the major counties in Illinois, including Cook County.

Since 1983, Attorney Peter F. Ferracuti has been listed in several editions of the national publication, “Best Lawyers in America”, being 1 of only 18 civil litigation specialists similarly recognized from the State of Illinois in that publication. Attorney Peter F. Ferracuti has had extensive experience in the labor law field, currently representing several unions. The major clientele of his firm are working people, with the firm essentially representing individuals rather than corporations or insurance companies. He is an active member of the American Association for Justice, Illinois Trial Lawyers Association and the Workers’ Compensation Lawyers of America.
Attorney Peter F. Ferracuti graduated in the upper 3% of his class from the University of Illinois, School of Liberal Arts and Sciences, with a double major in Political Science and Psychology. Thereafter, he received his law degree from the University of Illinois Law School. Immediately thereafter, he was licensed to practice in the State of Illinois.

Nigel S. Smith |

Attorney Nigel S. Smith graduated from Bradley University with a Bachelor of Science degree, summa cum laude, and from the College of Law at Northern Illinois University with a Juris Doctor degree, cum laude. He is licensed to practice law in the State of Illinois and in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois. Attorney Smith is a member of the Illinois State Bar Association, the American Bar Association, the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association and the American Association of Justice.
His concentration is mainly in the area of civil litigation, with extensive experience in workers' compensation. In addition to his trial experience, he has also appeared before the Illinois Workers' Compensation Commission and at the Appellate Court of Illinois. |

Jennifer Kiesewetter |

Jennifer Kiesewetter joined the Law Offices of Peter F. Ferracuti, P.C. in September of 2004. She grew up in Washburn, Illinois. She graduated from Eureka College with a B.A. in Business Administration in 2001 and the University of Illinois College of Law with her Juris Doctorate in 2004.
Jennifer concentrates primarily in workers' compensation law and has been successful at the Commission, Circuit Court, and Appellate Court levels.
She is a member of the Illinois Trial Lawyers' Association and the Illinois State Bar Association. Jennifer was recently appointed to the Illinois State Bar Association Workers' Compensation Counsel.

Julie L. Ajster |

Julie L. Ajster has been a lifelong resident of the Illinois Valley. She was an Illinois General Assembly Scholar and graduated from Illinois State University with a Bachelor's degree in English. Ajster received her juris doctorate degree in 2002 from Southern Illinois University School of Law. She is currently a member of the Illinois State Bar Association, LaSalle County bar Association, Illinois Trial Lawyer's Association, Phi Delta Phi Law Fraternity and the American Bar Association.
Upon being admitted to practice law in Illinois, she has concentrated her practice of law to the area of personal injury, including automobile accidents, construction accidents and premise liability cases. She is an experienced negotiator, litigator and trial attorney. She has appeared and practiced law in twenty-six Illinois counties. She argued in Federal Court and has handled appeals in the First, Second and Third Appellate Courts. |

Thomas M. Strow |

Tommy is an Ottawa native and cum laude graduate of the University of Illinois College of Law. While at the U of I, he was a member of the National Moot Court Team and the recipient of a Rickert Award for Excellence in Oral Advocacy. He also received recognition as "Best Oralist" in the Frederick Green Moot Court Honorary Round Competition and earned a CALI Excellence for the Future Award for his studies in Philosophy of Law. He is also a graduate of Anderson University in Anderson, Indiana, where he double-majored in Philosophy and Religious Studies.
His first legal work was as a volunteer for the Champaign County CASA, an organization dedicated to advocating the interests of abused and neglected children. He also interned with the Association for Defence Counsel at the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia, located in The Hague, Netherlands.
Tommy joined the Law Offices of Peter F. Ferracuti,P.C. in January of 2006. He specializes in civil litigation and appellate work, as well as workers' compensation. |

Jane M. Ryan |

Jane joined the Law Offices of Peter F. Ferracuti in 2007.
She is from Orland Park, Illinois and graduated with honors and distinction in 2004 from Purdue University with a double major in English and Psychology. Jane then graduated from the University of Illinois College of Law in 2007 with a Juris Doctorate. While at the University of Illinois College of Law, Jane was a member of the College’s Trial Team and competed nationally.
Jane is a member of the Illinois Bar and practices in both Workers’ Compensation and Personal Injury in addition to Probate and Real Estate. |
